Punjab set to distribute 500000 Kissan Cards by next month

Punjab’s Agriculture & Livestock Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani announced that 500,000 “Kissan Cards” will beby October 15, 2024, providing farmers with easy access to finance for agricultural inputs.
Out of 850,000 registered farmers, 250,000 cards are currently being delivered. The province has set up 134 distribution centers at the tehsil level. The Kissan Card will assist specifically in wheat cultivation.
Additionally, the Chief Minister Punjab’s Green Tractor Scheme offers a Rs1 million subsidy per tractor, and model Agri Malls are being established in key cities. The new Agricultural Graduates Internship Programme provides a Rs60,000 monthly stipend.
