Punjab government has launched an initiative to introduce cooperative farming aiming to boost the cultivation

The Punjab government has launched an initiative to introduce cooperative farming, aiming to boost the cultivation of tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables.
Led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, this project will provide subsidies to groups of 5-10 farmers for essential resources like seeds, fertilizers, drip irrigation, and solarization.
The initial phase will cover 2,000 acres of land, focusing on off-season onion cultivation in Kahror Pakka, Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari, and Rajanpur, and tomato cultivation in Khushab, Chakwal, Pindi, and Jhelum.
This cooperative farming model will ensure a steady supply of these essential vegetables in Punjab for six months, preventing artificial price inflation.
