Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a call from King Charles III, inviting him to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa this October.
PM Sharif accepted the invitation, emphasizing the summit’s significance as it marks King Charles’s first chairing of the event since he became head of the Commonwealth in September 2022.
The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s commitment to Commonwealth values and highlighted the importance of discussing key issues such as sustainable development and climate change, especially in light of Pakistan’s vulnerability to climate impacts.
He also inquired about the King’s health and sent best wishes to the Princess of Wales following her recent recovery.
