Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed officials to introduce Information Technology as a mandatory subject from Grade 6 in schools across Pakistan. This decision was made during a high-level meeting focused on boosting the IT sector and preparing youth for the digital economy.
He emphasized the importance of quality education in IT and called for collaboration with provincial governments. Special focus will be given to underdeveloped areas like Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan to ensure nationwide inclusion.
The government is also working with Huawei and top universities to offer advanced IT training in areas like AI and Cybersecurity, aiming to equip students with skills for global job markets.
