PM proposes common Currency for SCO Nations

Prime Minister ShehbazSharif has suggested that the countries in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) adopt a common currency.
While speaking at the 23rd SCO Heads of Government meeting, he proposed forming an Interbank Union using this unified currency to make economic transactions easier.
He emphasized that a common currency and other economic actions are important for promoting peace, stability, and development in the region.
The Prime Minister also mentioned his government’s support for new funding methods to encourage sustainable growth and called for reforms in the SCO to tackle regional development challenges.
Additionally, Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to establishing a counter-terrorism framework within the SCO to enhance security and stability among its member countries.
