The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to take control of Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium to upgrade it to international standards. This move, discussed in the Board of Governors’ 74th meeting, could see the venue host international series again after a long time.
The meeting also reviewed the Champions One-Day Cup, which started at the Iqbal Stadium. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was praised for securing partnerships for the tournament, featuring top
Pakistani cricketers. The board discussed infrastructure projects to host the ICC Champions Trophy next year.
Chairman Naqvi wished luck to participating teams, emphasizing the tournament’s role in strengthening domestic cricket. He hinted at expanding such tournaments to other cities, ensuring high-quality matches for fans nationwide.
