Pakistan’s top cueist Muhammad Asif has claimed the IBSF World Snooker Championship title in Doha

For the third time, Pakistan’s top cueist, Muhammad Asif, has claimed the IBSF World Snooker Championship title in Doha. Entering the championship as a wild card qualifier, 42-year-old Asif displayed remarkable skill, advancing through the qualifying, main, and knockout rounds.
In the final, Asif faced Iran’s Ali Gharagozlo. Asif took the first frame 70-25, but Gharagozlo leveled by winning the second. Asif then gained momentum, winning the third frame 62-8, achieving his sixth century break with a score of 106 in the fourth. He continued to dominate, winning 82-12 in the fifth frame. Although Gharagozlo won the sixth and seventh frames, Asif sealed the victory in the eighth with a break of 93.
This is Asif’s third individual world title, matching India’s Pankaj Advani’s record. Along with his two team titles, he is Pakistan’s most decorated cueist. The Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association’s President, Javed Karim, and Chairman, Alamgir Sheikh, congratulated Asif on his historic achievement.
