Pakistan’s food export sector saw a significant 22% growth in the first four months of the fiscal year, reaching $2.36 billion. This surge was driven by a strong performance in rice, sugar, and vegetable exports, marking a remarkable boost in the country’s agricultural trade.
Rice exports surged by over 52%, surpassing $1 billion, with Basmati rice seeing a significant rise in demand. Sugar exports also experienced an extraordinary jump of 413%, bringing in over $108 million.
Despite declines in some areas like fish and dry fruits, the overall growth in food exports reflects a rising global demand for Pakistani products, contributing to economic growth.
