Pakistan’s first multi-mission satellite is now operational

Pakistan’s first multi-mission satellite, PAKSAT-MM1, is now operational, marking a major milestone in the country’s space and digital development. Launched by SUPARCO on May 30, it successfully reached its orbit on June 5 and is located at 38.2 East, 38,786 km above Earth.
Equipped with advanced communication technology, PAKSAT-MM1 will transform Pakistan’s communication infrastructure, enhancing services like TV broadcasting, community internet, and tele-education. It will boost internet connectivity in remote areas, aligning with the government’s Digital Pakistan vision.
The satellite’s launch comes as Pakistan improves its global standing, moving up 14 points to 136 in the UN E-Governance Development Index.
