Pakistani Scrabble player Sohaib Sanaullah Wins Championship at US Scrabble Tournament

Pakistani Scrabble player Sohaib Sanaullah has achieved another victory for the nation by winning the B Division of the Lake George Scrabble Tournament in New York, USA.
The 22-year-old delivered an outstanding performance, securing wins in 14 out of 15 games to claim the championship. After a four-year break from competitive Scrabble to complete his education, Sohaib made a strong comeback, dominating the tournament without missing a beat.
He not only took home the B Division title but also earned the award for the highest single move, scoring an impressive 163 points. Additionally, he set the highest single-game score of 646 points, further solidifying his prowess.
In the tournament, Neil Gaine secured second place, while Justin Morris came in third. Sohaib’s brother, Daniyal Sanaullah, also put up an impressive performance, finishing in fourth place.
With 174 participants across various divisions, this prestigious tournament showcased its competitive nature and international prestige. The stellar performances by Pakistani players like Sohaib continue to highlight their impact on the global Scrabble stage, showcasing their intellectual strength in this competitive word game.
