Pakistan to host Pak-Eng test series in Multan & Rawalpindi
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has addressed concerns surrounding the venues for the upcoming Test series against England, confirming that the matches will be held in Pakistan. The series, starting October 7, was initially uncertain due to stadium renovations, with speculation of a potential shift to the UAE.
England head coach Brendon McCullum expressed frustration over the uncertainty, stating that the team cannot be selected until the venues are confirmed. In response, Naqvi assured that the series will proceed in Pakistan, with matches in Multan and Rawalpindi, and that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is satisfied with the arrangements.
Naqvi also confirmed that Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, despite uncertainty around India’s participation. The Test series against England is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25, scheduled from October 7 to 28. The PCB chairman’s statements aim to alleviate concerns and ensure a smooth hosting of international cricket events in Pakistan.
