Pakistan sends first ever direct cargo vessel to Bangladesh
A historic milestone was achieved as the first-ever cargo vessel traveling directly from Karachi Port arrived at Chittagong Port in Bangladesh on Wednesday.
This marks the beginning of a direct maritime trade route between the two nations. The vessel, with a capacity of 2,300 TEUs, carried a diverse range of goods, reflecting the growing demand for direct trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof, hailed this development as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral trade ties and enhancing regional connectivity. He also proposed launching regular direct shipping services to further promote business and eco-social relations between the two countries.
