Pakistan Railways has introduced a 10% fare reduction across all AC classes of express and mail trains, as well as economy classes for passenger trains, effective from September 23.
Additionally, Pakistan Railways has moved forward with plans to operate 10 passenger trains under a public-private partnership (PPP).
The first phase of this initiative will begin soon, with 10 trains being handed over to private operators. Interested parties are invited to submit applications, with technical bids being opened on the same day.
Pakistan Railways has announced the privatization of several key trains, including Karachi Express, Awam Express, Hazara Express, Bahauddin Zakariya Express, Mehr Express, Sukkur Express, Chenab Express, Mehran Express, Mohenjodaro Passenger Train, and Rawalpindi Passenger Train.
These trains will be operated under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
