Pakistan Petroleum Limited discovered gas in Sindh

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has discovered gas and condensate at its Pateji X-1 exploration well in the Shah Bandar Block, Sujawal District, Sindh.
This marks PPL’s third consecutive hydrocarbon find in the region.
Drilled to a depth of 2,475 meters in October 2024, the well targets the Lower Goru Formation’s Upper Sands.
Initial testing reported 11.7 MMscfd of gas and 198 barrels per day of condensate with a flowing pressure of 2,578 psig.
Joint venture partners include Mari Petroleum, Sindh Energy, and Government Holdings.
This discovery boosts Pakistan’s energy sector, reducing fuel imports and supporting local energy needs.
