In 2024, Pakistan achieved a significant milestone in rice exports, with a 25% increase in shipments to Saudi Arabia, reaching $4 billion.

The exceptional quality of Pakistani rice has gained immense popularity among Saudi consumers, boosting demand. Optimistic exporters anticipate rice exports will grow to $4.5 billion by 2025.

The Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistani Business Council lauded the premium quality of Pakistani rice, highlighting its rising status in the Saudi market. Efforts by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) have played a crucial role in this success.

As per SIFC official Shahjehan Malik, Pakistan aims to hit a $5 billion export target in the next fiscal year, focusing on advanced research into seeds and the promotion of standardized agricultural practices. Pakistan’s Basmati rice continues to strengthen its position as a premium product in global markets.
