Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz laid the foundation stone for the Nawaz Sharif Ca*cer Hospital on Wednesday, realizing a long-held vision of accessible canc*r care across Pakistan. She stated that the hospital, expected to open its first phase by October 2025, will provide treatment to patients nationwide without denying anyone care.
Emphasizing the hospital’s national significance, Maryam Nawaz highlighted Punjab’s commitment to extending resources beyond provincial boundaries to alleviate the financial burden of ca*cer treatment and diagnostics. She noted that the facility pays tribute to Nawaz Sharif’s contributions as a three-time prime minister.
The Chief Minister called for swift progress on the three-year project, stressing the importance of transparency and efficiency. She assured that the hospital will be equipped with modern technology to deliver comprehensive ca*cer care. Additionally, she announced the revival of free medical services in government hospitals and encouraged overseas doctors to return, promising equal professional opportunities in Pakistan.
