Maryam Nawaz announced allocation of plots to 3,200 journalists

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a significant initiative to allocate plots to 3,200 journalists in the province. This decision emerged during a meeting with Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari, where the immediate steps for the Lahore Phase 2 Journalist Colony were discussed.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that journalists and the government function together like two wheels of a vehicle, asserting that providing plots is a rightful claim, not a favor. She assured that the allocation process would adhere to merit and legal standards. Applications will be accepted from journalists outside the Lahore Press Club, with an official advertisement expected within the next few days.
In a separate event, she supported over 1,400 Hindu families by distributing checks of Rs 15,150 each for their festive celebrations. During this gathering, she outlined initiatives aimed at enhancing support for minority communities, including special identity cards and virtual police stations to address grievances, as well as plans for developmental projects in minority neighborhoods.
Furthermore, a significant Rs 10-15 billion initiative will establish machinery hubs in each tehsil, providing farmers with access to affordable equipment. Plans to solarize tube wells powered by diesel and petrol aim to convert 7,000 units initially, significantly reducing electricity costs for agricultural producers.
