The federal government of Pakistan has announced the provision of free electric bikes (E-bikes) for top students across the country.

Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, chaired a meeting on the electric vehicle policy and directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to install charging stations at petrol pumps in Islamabad. As part of the initiative, 120 outstanding students from the Federal Board will receive free electric bikes.

Additionally, 39,000 e-bikes and 1,900 electric rickshaws will be available on concessional loans. The government is also progressing with the installation of 40 charging stations along motorways and national highways. This move aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to make Islamabad a model city, promoting green transportation.
