All 11 driving license branches in Sindh have now begun issuing international driving licenses, a service that was previously exclusive to the Driving License branch in Clifton, Karachi.
This service is also available online for Sindh residents who hold a valid driving license.
DIG for Training and Licensing Iqbal Dara announced that the online issuance of international driving licenses has been launched alongside services at the 11 branches in Sindh.
The issuance started on September 14, initially from six branches in Karachi and subsequently in the divisional cities of Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana.
As of Thursday, a total of 693 international driving permits were issued, with the Clifton branch leading at 693.
The Hyderabad branch issued 52 permits, the Korangi branch 23, and one each from the Malir and Saeedabad branches, while the Nazimabad branch issued 104 permits and PFC South issued 65 permits.
So far, two applicants have utilized the online option to obtain their permits.
This online facility is accessible to all Sindh residents with a valid driving license, allowing them to apply without visiting a driving license branch. The TCS courier service will deliver the international driving permits to online applicants.
DIG Iqbal Dara mentioned that an online system is in place for depositing the Rs1,088 fee for issuing international driving permits.
