Chinese delegation visits Gwadar
A high-ranking Chinese delegation visited Gwadar on Tuesday to explore potential investment opportunities and assess the progress of ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The delegation, consisting of 26 members, including representatives from the Chinese embassy, Pakistani officials, and business leaders, engaged in discussions with local authorities and toured key locations such as the New Gwadar International Airport, the Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital, the South Free Zone, and Gwadar Port.
The meetings primarily focused on the Phase 2 projects of CPEC, along with discussions on development initiatives and potential investment avenues. The delegation expressed their approval of the security arrangements in place for Chinese workers involved in various projects.
In his address, Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi underscored the importance of Pakistan-China industrial cooperation, describing it as vital for the economic transformation of the region. He also highlighted the creation of new employment and business prospects for the people of Balochistan.
Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority, Pasand Khan Bilidi, provided an overview of CPEC’s pivotal role in the development of Gwadar Port. The Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company also offered recommendations to further enhance trade relations between the two countries.
