China has started working on second phase of CPEC
ISLAMABAD: The second phase of CPEC has been started with the facilitation of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The government is determined to work closely with China on five new economic corridors of the CPEC. These economic corridors include Innovation Corridor, Livelihood Corridor, Green Energy Corridor, Regional Development Corridor and Employment Creation Corridor.
Giving details, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said these economic corridors are part of CPEC Phase II. He said Pakistan and China have agreed to start work on these five corridors which are aligned with Pakistan’s ‘5Es framework.
Meanwhile, terming the signing of the Trade in Goods Agreement 2022 as a significant step towards achieving the bilateral trade target of USD 5 billion, Pakistan and Turkiye here on Wednesday underscored the need for enhancing the trade and investment portfolio through more Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) arrangements.
According to press release issued by finance ministry, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, Mehmet Paçaci paid a farewell courtesy call on Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.
