September 14, 2024
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched Islamabad’s first digital car parking project at G-8 Markaz.
CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, along with board members, inaugurated the initiative, which initially offers free parking for public awareness.
The digital system, starting at G-8 and soon at F-7 and the Centaurs Mall parking lot, will be operational by September 25.
Future expansions include commercial areas like the Blue Area parking plaza. The system supports digital payments via credit/debit cards, QR codes, scratch cards, and cash.
A joint venture between Pakistani and Chinese firms will manage the system, with CDA receiving 75% of the revenue. Free parking is available for the first 15 minutes.
