CAA has confirmed that the New Gwadar International Airport will commence operations on January 20

Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed that the New Gwadar International Airport will commence operations on January 20, marking a significant milestone for the region.

Initially, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will operate flights, with both local and international airlines showing interest in connecting to the new hub. Located in Balochistan, Gwadar is strategically positioned along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the airport is expected to drive regional economic growth by enhancing connectivity and facilitating trade and tourism.

The modern, state-of-the-art airport is equipped to handle larger aircraft and international flights, offering advanced security and amenities. This development is a key step in making Gwadar a global trade and maritime hub.

Additionally, PIA has resumed European operations after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus, with the first flight to Paris.
