Azerbaijan is poised to receive its first batch of JF-17 Thunder fighter jets from Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in defense collaboration between the two nations. Discussions on the potential for joint production of the fighter jets are also in progress.

 

Azerbaijan’s President, Ilham Aliyev, has shown strong interest in strengthening defense ties with Pakistan, committing to a $2 billion investment in the country, with final agreements expected during his visit to Islamabad in April 2025.

 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Aliyev recently participated in the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum in Baku, emphasizing the importance of defense cooperation.
