Government has granted licenses to 57 EV manufacturers
Government has granted licenses to 57 EV manufacturers, including 55 for two- and three-wheelers and two for four-wheeler assembly.
The move is part of a broader effort to promote the EV industry in Pakistan. A plan is also in the works to establish charging stations, including fast chargers and battery swapping stations across the country.
Additionally, the government’s new EV policy includes benefits like free registration, exemption from annual token fees, and toll taxes. One EV zone will be set up in each province, including Islamabad.
The government has also cut the tariff for EV charging stations by 45%, which is expected to enhance the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce environmental impact.
