Pakistan’s IT exports have shown impressive growth, reaching $1.86 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2024-25

Pakistan’s IT exports have shown impressive growth, reaching $1.86 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 21% increase compared to $1.456 billion in the same period last year.

Despite challenges like slow internet connectivity, the sector has thrived, with monthly exports consistently exceeding $300 million since October 2024. The highest recorded monthly export was $348 million in December 2024.

Umair Nizam, senior vice chairperson of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), attributes the growth to collaboration between the government, IT companies, and their representative bodies.

Pakistani IT firms have focused on expanding into non-traditional markets like the GCC, alongside traditional markets, and have actively participated in international tech events. IT exports are projected to exceed $4 billion by the end of the fiscal year.
