first batch of 146 electric buses has arrived in Islamabad

The first batch of 146 electric buses, part of a total of 160, has arrived in Islamabad to improve the city’s public transport system.

Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) confirmed that the final batch of 14 electric buses is en route from China. Work on the Zero-Point charging station has already begun, although its construction was delayed due to the cancellation of previous tenders.

However, the CDA has now issued a new tender for the charging station at reduced rates. The first phase of the project will focus on setting up chargers and parking areas for the new bus routes.

This initiative is aimed at offering a more sustainable and efficient travel option for Islamabad’s residents.
