Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched Phase-II of the Chief Minister Honhar Scholarship Program

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched Phase-II of the Chief Minister Honhar Scholarship Program, marking a significant step in supporting education in the province. Under this initiative, the government will cover the educational expenses of 30,000 students annually, totaling 120,000 students over the next four years.

The scholarship program is designed to help talented students pursue higher education at top institutions without financial concerns. It covers students from 65 universities, 12 medical and dental colleges, and 359 colleges in Punjab, offering scholarships in 68 subjects and disciplines. Eligible students under 22 with a monthly family income of less than Rs30,000 will be able to apply.

To ensure transparency, all applications were processed online, with scrutiny conducted by both institutional committees and a provincial-level committee, supervised by a steering committee chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
