Pakistan and China have signed an agreement to build an expressway linking Gwadar Port to the new Gwadar International Airport.
This project is part of the ongoing development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aimed at enhancing connectivity and economic growth.
Alongside the expressway, both countries have agreed to conduct feasibility studies for new motorways, including routes connecting Mirpur-Muzaffarabad and Karachi-Hyderabad. Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal expressed appreciation for China’s support in transforming Pakistan’s infrastructure through CPEC projects like the Multan-Sukkur Motorway.
The projects are expected to reduce travel times, increase trade, and stimulate economic opportunities. Pakistan also plans to expand its transport infrastructure with new highways, including a proposed mineral corridor in Balochistan.
