Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja inaugurated Asia’s first Smart Village project in Roras, Sialkot, under the Digital Pakistan vision.

The initiative aims to digitally connect rural areas, improving lives through internet access and solving issues in health, education, and employment. In collaboration with ITU, Huawei, Bedari NGO, and Tele-Education, the project will train 100 youth in business and computer skills within six months.

The Smart Village Centre will enhance education, provide digital medical consultancy, and create opportunities. Similar projects will soon expand nationwide, showcasing Pakistan’s commitment to digital inclusivity.
