Punjab government announced the launch of 102 environmentally friendly electric buses

The Punjab government has announced the launch of 102 environmentally friendly electric buses to enhance travel facilities for Rawalpindi residents.

This decision was made during a meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party on October 25. The project will cover an 84-kilometer area with 10 routes. The electric bus service is valued at over 7 billion PKR, with 4.7 billion PKR already allocated by the Punjab government.

The Punjab Mass Transit Authority will oversee the project’s implementation. The electric buses are expected to help reduce air pollution and provide a sustainable, efficient public transport option for the city.
