Airblue granted approval to begin operating flights to Europe
Airblue has been granted approval by the European Commission and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to begin operating flights to Europe.
This marks a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion, as it currently serves international routes to destinations including Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, as well as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah in the UAE. With this new authorization, Airblue will expand its network and enhance Pakistan’s global connectivity.
The announcement follows the European Union’s decision to lift the suspension on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which had been in place since 2020.
Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed that the decision resulted from the Ministry of Aviation’s successful efforts to improve safety measures and meet International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
