Maersk Line has announced a significant $2 billion investment in Pakistan’s maritime sector.
This investment was revealed during a meeting in Islamabad between Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, the Minister for Maritime Affairs, and senior officials from Maersk Line. The minister described the move as transformative for Pakistan’s shipping and logistics industries, emphasizing its long-term economic benefits.
Maersk officials expressed their confidence in the Pakistani government and praised the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for facilitating this investment.
Minister Shaikh assured Maersk of the Ministry’s full support, promising to streamline operations and tackle any challenges to ensure a smooth investment process.
He also emphasized that this partnership could attract further foreign investments, enhance Pakistan’s maritime infrastructure, and contribute to port development and job creation, boosting Pakistan’s presence in the global shipping industry.
