Pakistan has experienced a remarkable surge in rice exports, generating over $721.8 million in foreign exchange during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
Official reports indicate a record increase of 77.63% compared to the same period last year. From July to September, the country exported 991,000 metric tons of rice, up from 596,000 tons in the previous year, contributing significantly to the economy.
In September alone, 374,000 metric tons were exported, yielding $257.2 million—a 49.19% year-on-year rise from 255,000 metric tons and $172.4 million in September last year. This growth underscores Pakistan’s strengthening position in international rice markets.
