President Asif Ali Zardari honored Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim with the prestigious Nishan-e-Pakistan award, recognizing his steadfast support for Islamic causes and his deep friendship with Pakistan.
The ceremony took place at Aiwan-e-Sadr and was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, military leaders, and diplomats. During the event, it was noted that Anwar Ibrahim, an admirer of Allama Iqbal, draws inspiration from his works.
Known for advocating humanitarian causes and Islamic values, Prime Minister Ibrahim champions social justice and opposes global oppression while working to combat Islamophobia and promote interfaith harmony. A state dinner was also held in honor of the visiting leader and his delegation.
