Pakistan has recorded more than a 50% increase in monsoon rainfall from July to September, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The average rainfall during this period reached 212.1 millimeters, compared to the normal 140.9 millimeters. Balochistan saw the most significant rise, with a staggering 111% increase, totaling 122.9 millimeters. Sindh followed closely with a 108% increase, receiving 278.4 millimeters.
This surge in rainfall has contributed to severe flooding across several provinces, highlighting the urgent impact of climate change on the region.
