OGDCL has announced a significant hydrocarbon discovery from the Akhiro-1 well in Sindh’s Khairpur district

The well, drilled to a depth of 12,442 ft, successfully flowed 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas during testing.

This discovery, part of the Sawan South Joint Venture with OGDCL holding 20%, is expected to boost Pakistan’s energy security by enhancing its hydrocarbon reserves.

The joint effort continues to explore and de-risk the Sawan South Block for further potential.
