Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik led a delegation of Pakistani energy companies to the eighth Silk Route Expo in China, aiming to enhance energy partnerships with Chinese firms.
During the discussion forum, he conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, assuring Chinese companies of robust support for joint ventures. Currently, Pakistan’s domestic oil production is 70,998 barrels per day, while natural gas production stands at 3,131 million standard cubic feet per day.
With plans to invest $5 billion over the next three years to explore 240 potential reserves, key topics discussed included oil and gas exploration, refinery upgrades, and coal conversion. Dr. Malik also emphasized the importance of sustainable practices while exploring green and blue hydrogen production.
