Punjab government to launch Glass train project

The Punjab government has made significant progress on the new glass train project connecting Rawalpindi and Bhurban in Murree.
A working group of 18 departments, led by the transport minister, has been established to oversee the project, with the Rawalpindi commissioner, deputy commissioners of Rawalpindi and Murree, and various department heads involved.
The 65-kilometer route will start from Saddar in Rawalpindi, passing through the picturesque Margalla Hills and Barakahu, and end at Bhurban.
The National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) will conduct a feasibility study for the project, which received formal approval from Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on June 29, 2024, as part of the Murree Development Plan.
