Pakistan earned $46.7m from mango export

Pakistani mangoes are renowned not only domestically but also globally for their exceptional sweetness and flavor, generating significant annual profits for growers through exports.

This year, Pakistani mangoes were exported to 42 countries, earning the country $46.7 million, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

During a recent National Assembly session, it was revealed which country imported the most Pakistani mangoes. The commerce ministry announced that the United Kingdom emerged as the largest buyer, importing mangoes worth $13.2 million. The UAE followed, with mango imports valued at $9.2 million.

Other notable importers included Germany, which purchased mangoes worth $1.9 million; Oman, with imports valued at $1.7 million; Saudi Arabia, at $1.3 million; and Afghanistan, which imported mangoes worth $2.2 million. Collectively, these countries accounted for around $4.4 million in exports.

For the current financial year, Pakistan’s mango exports totaled 13,681 metric tons, generating $46.7 million from 42 countries. Earlier this year, the All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association (APFVEA) expressed concerns that climate change might impact the country’s ability to meet its mango export targets.
