Consumers using up to 500 units will receive a reduction of Rs. 14 per unit

President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, announced a relief package for Punjab’s electricity consumers. Consumers using up to 500 units will receive a reduction of Rs. 14 per unit in their August and September bills.

Rs. 45 billion has been allocated for this relief package, which aims to provide relief to consumers during the summer months. Additionally, the Punjab government has allocated Rs. 700 billion for a solar program to provide relief to the middle class.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the package, calling it a “notable example of a people-centric initiative” by Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The decision is expected to benefit millions of consumers in Punjab
