17 storey IT Park set to be built at NED University in Karachi
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved two major public-private partnership projects: a desalination plant for the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and a 17-story technology park at NED University.
The desalination plant, managed by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC), will produce up to 46 million gallons per day (MGD) of clean water, with a Kuwaiti company expressing interest in partnership. DHA will purchase the water at affordable prices.
The NED Science and Technology Park will receive Rs1.7 billion in funding and is set to break ground by the end of November, with construction expected to take about two years.
These projects aim to enhance clean water access and technological innovation in Sindh.17
